  • Workforce: 39 Workers Inducted

About the project

The project requirement was to provide East Arnhem Regional Council with the Design and Construction of a replacement mechanical workshop including new steel framed shed with office, ablutions, secure screens and gates inclusive of As Constructed drawings and final certificates.  The Project was completed in the township of Gapuwiyak in the Northern Territory.

Our Solution

The Gapuwiyak Workshop project was a successful project that saw sound achievements in local development including Indigenous Worker engagement and community participation. SH Build was actively working in the community for 3 months and established good networks and relationships with all community providers.

There was a total of 39 workers engaged on the project, 5 of those workers were apprentices and 2 were indigenous apprentices. In total there were 7 workers identifying as indigenous.

SH Build delivered the project on budget with no major cost overruns. This project was completed in the middle of the initial COVID-19 pandemic. We are proud to have been able to deliver this project to such a high standard even with the impact of CHO health orders, lockdowns and material access issues.
