This extensive project comprised of 2 separable portions. Portion 1 was the construction of a Multipurpose Pavilion inclusive of toilets, basketball facilities, storeroom and carpark to the back of the school including a carpark area. Portion 2 was construction of a concrete carpark to the front of the school including drainage, bollards, linemarking and fencing repairs. The Project was completed for OLSH Thamarrurr Catholic College in the township of Wadeye in the Northern Territory.
The project was a success that saw sound achievements in local Indigenous Worker engagement and community participation. SH Build actively worked with the client, community and school resulting in delivery of a great facility.
There was a total of 42 workers engaged on the project with 12 workers identifying as indigenous, and 2 of the indigenous workers local Wadeye residents. The FTE exceeded 35% on average across the term of the contract.
There was substantial training completed during the course of the contract for both indigenous and non-indigenous workers including accredited and non-accredited training.
