Project Overview
The Ramingining Five Houses Project delivered an outstanding result for SHBuild, with notable achievements across Indigenous workforce engagement, IBE participation and community involvement. The scope comprised the design and construction of five new houses using cyclone-rated Bondor panel systems, complete with new kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, verandahs, rainwater tanks, driveways, perimeter fencing and full water, sewer and power mains connections. Ramingining sits in central Arnhem Land, around 450 kilometres east of Darwin in Yolngu country, near the Arafura Wetlands and accessed largely by air given seasonal road closures through the wet. SHBuild’s team was active in the community for over six months, building close working relationships with Traditional Owners, local service providers and the broader community. By project close, 60 tradespeople and labourers had contributed to the works, hailing from communities across the Top End.
